Database Capacity

Perfast database requirements are reasonable and very rarely become an issue, given current data storage capacity of all modern servers.
As an indicator, 8GB of disk capacity can accommodate up to 2000 employees for all Perfast functions. Variances do arise and capacity requirements can change depending on the amount of historical data to be kept on line by the customer. Given that disk space is so inexpensive, it is recommended that more than adequate disk capacity is provided.

No re-inputting of data is required.
What Security measures are inbuilt in the Perfast software?
Perfast has a comprehensive inbuilt security system controlled by a System Administrator. Starting with Log On user ID’s and passwords through to tailored control of data access, Perfast security is comprehensive. Supervisors can only look and change data relating to their employees, managers can only deal with data in their sphere of influence within the organisation structure. Read Only or Read and Update options are available. Selected data can be blocked from view to specified users, e.g. salary and pay related information. Passwords are encrypted.

Why should I implement all three Perfast modules at the same time (Personnel/HR, Payroll)?
Implementation of all three Perfast modules integrated together on a single corporate database, adds, significant time and money savings and simplifies everyday work. Single input and common storage of data lends itself to efficiencies and greater level of data integrity. The large cost savings are achieved through full integration and the efficiencies achieved through e.g. payroll cost reductions.
What is the Perfast Licence Costing Structure?
Perfast Web Services including Employee Self Service and Supervisor Self Service off unlimited user access for a fixed price. The Perfast core application is licensed by concurrent user. Both Unlimited and limited database size options are offered depending on size of the organisation. Organisations with large number of employees, high staff turnover should opt for unlimited option. However, a low cost option is also offered to organisations with very small database requirements.
The pricing structure facilitates the modular implementation of the system so each module can be bought separately as required. The concurrent user model also has advantages in that a user on the system is across all modules, for example, core users of the system can be structured in such a way that different modules are used at different times thus reducing the concurrent user requirement, thus lower cost. The license cost of the ESS is based on database size only and offers unlimited no of user access.
The Perfast pricing structure facilitates an organisation starting off with a low number of users and adding further concurrent users as required based on an increased demand. Perfast optional accessories are priced separately on request. These include the Perfast AppMap, Ad Hoc (End User) Report Writer, Data Exchange module.

New releases of Perfast software are made available every 3-4 years. Moving from, say, 5.xx.xx to 6.xx.xx represents a quantum leap in terms of technology or functionality or both. Updates are made available at least annually e.g. moving from 6.00.xx to 6.01.xx and represent budget changes, some functional improvements and bug fixes. Critical Bug fixes are implemented as a patch level update which is represented, e.g., 6.01.01 updates and patch level updates are available from the downloadable area of the Perfast website. The annual support fee covers telephone help desk, updates and patch level updates but not new releases. New Release which will represent a very significant “step change” in technology or functionality may attract a charge but such charge will be limited not to exceed 20% of license fee. Documentation (release notes) and update scripts are also available from the Perfast website in MS Word and PDF formats. Supported customers can gain access to the secure download area through user-id and password control.
